The Latino Geriatric Mental Health Workgroup: A workgroup on the mental health needs of Hispanic older adults, January 10, 2006, 10a.m.

The Association of Hispanic Mental Health Professionals in partnership with The Geriatric Mental Health Alliance New York City Department of the Aging New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Assemblyman Peter M. Rivera, Chairman of the Mental Health Committee.

This Latino Geriatric Mental Health Workgroup has been convened to develop recommendations on meeting the mental health needs of Hispanic older adults. These recommendations will address identification of best practices, opportunities for innovation and policy changes to help deal with barriers to achieving these goals.

The next meeting of the workgroup is on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 10am - 12pm

The NYC Department for the Aging

Church Street (between Worth and Thomas Streets) Room 328

Agenda will include presentations by New York City's Department for the Aging Commissioner Mendez-Santiago and Associate Commissioner Jorge Petit and Michael Friedman. There will be a discussion goals and planned activities. The workgroup is chaired by Carmen Collado and vice-chaired by Michael Friedman and Nereyda Brenner.
