Our mission is to identify the mental health needs of the Hispanic community through ongoing analysis of major concerns in public and private mental health issues, including research, education, policy and training in the City and State of New York, and to promote alternative services that best meet the needs of the Hispanic community.

Our objectives are:

  • To represent the interests of Hispanics in Mental Health and establish links between the public and private sectors.
  • To define, assess, and analyze the mental health needs of Hispanics in the Citv and State of New York.
  • To formulate and recommend policies that represent the best interest of Hispanic consumers and providers.
  • To advocate for legislation that will improve the mental health delivery system in the Hispanic community.
  • To foster actions that redress the under representation of Hispanics in the mental health field.
  • To disseminate knowledge on mental health issues affecting Hispanics & provide information and consultation to our membership and other organizations.
  • To recruit new members and represent the interests of the Hispanic community.
  • To provide our membership with mentors in their areas of interest.
  • To promote a standard of excellence by recruiting and accepting professionals who have demonstrated excellence and commitment in their professional performance within the Hispanic community.
  • To enhance the quality of Hispanic Mental Health Services.
